Cat burglars are nabbed

Fluff, left and Daisy examine the stash they have acquired during their recent crime spell which has seen them remove a number of items from the homes of their neighbours in Histon.

A PAIR of cat burglars have been caught with a haul of stolen goods.

The culprits are a duo of devious moggies who have been targeting neighbouring homes and creeping off with the swag.

Fluff - who is said to be the brains of the operation - and Daisy, the muscle, have been nabbed by their owner.

Paul Walford, of Station Road, Histon, said: "I am not quite sure who the guilty party is. I think we will need to get the police on it to take some paw prints. Fluff is the smart one and Daisy the bigger cat so they may be working as a team.

"The latest thefts are of a toy skittle, a handbrush, a pink doll's hat and a yellow Marigold glove but they do seem to also like circular things and have stolen a collar and a fan belt.

"They have also taken a hairbrush. I have checked with the near neighbours to see if they had anything missing but none had. The cats may be going across the back gardens and getting into Water Lane.

"We are hoping they might bring a wallet back but that hasn't happened yet."

The sisters are both one year old, but have already gone into a life of crime.

Paul, a designer for Cambridge Designers, fears the felines are planning a big job.

He said: "We have had cats before but none of them did this sort of thing. I am worried this is just the start of a life of crime and they are working up to a big one."

The cats have been busy in Histon over the last few weeks but have now been caught on camera with some of their recent haul.

And Paul has made an appeal to the possible victims of the thieving pussies.

He said: "Anyone missing a toy skittle, a handbrush, fan belt, pink doll's hat or any other tempting items please contact paul@cambridgedesig ners.co.uk who will be pleased to re-unite the items with their rightful owners."

Police have praised the criminal cats' owner.

A spokeswoman said: "It's admirable that the cat owner is looking to give back to the owners all the items taken by the cats."
