Fish and skips! Giant Gourami addicted to prawn cocktail crisps Skips turns PINK after eating too many

This fish turned a startling shade of pink after becoming addicted to prawn cocktail flavoured Skips.

The Giant Gourami fish, named Gerty, worried aquarium workers when it refused to eat anything - but they later found out it was because its previous owner had regularly fed it the snack.

The 40cm fish, which should be grey in colour, arrived at the Sea Life aquarium in London recently after being inherited from its previous owner.

Curator Jamie Oliver told the London Evening Standard: "I have never heard of a fish being fed crisps.

"Gouramis usually eat a diet of fruit and vegetation but fortunately Gerty doesn’t appear to have suffered any ill effects from her unhealthy addiction.

“I have never heard of a fish being fed crisps. I would not recommend it.”

Workers have now put Gerty on a new diet, with strictly no crisps allowed.

Mr Oliver warned people to do the relevant research when buying larger fish to avoid causing them any illness.
