'Giant spider' caught on camera on M3

A giant spider has been caught on CCTV camera apparently terrifying motorists on the M3 in Hampshire.

The oversized eight-legged creature was filmed apparently scuttling across junction 6 of the motorway.

Thankfully for passing drivers it was actually a trick of the eye caused by a normal-sized spider sitting on the camera lens.

It was spotted by Road Management System for Europe staff from Hampshire County Council who tweeted the picture which quickly went viral.

"Apart from a giant spider terrorising motorists passing by #M3 J6, #Hampshire's roads are now quiet & incident free," they tweeted.

China: Shark Tank Explodes At Shopping Centre

Shark tank explodes at shopping centre in Shanghai, China

CCTV pictures capture the moment the aquarium burst in Shanghai, sending glass and fish flying into the crowd.

Sixteen people were hurt when a 33-ton aquarium containing sharks, other fish and turtles exploded at a shopping centre in the Chinese city of Shanghai.

CCTV pictures captured the moment the giant tank burst, sending glass and fish flying into the crowd.

A man who was taking pictures of the aquarium when it broke was swept away by water.

Shoppers, store assistants and security staff suffered cuts and bruises as they were hit by pieces of 15cm-thick acrylic glass.

Three lemon sharks and dozens of small fishes and turtles were killed, according to reports.
Police have begun an investigation after the tank burst without warning.

"I was just walking by and heard the explosion of this water tank. I heard a bang, then water flushed out," said an unnamed passer-by.

"A cosmetics counter collapsed. The shop assistant was pulled out by other people," said another unidentified witness.

A safety expert said: "According to experts' preliminary investigation, the main cause of the incident is that the material used to make the aquarium ruptured under low temperatures after long-time use."

The Orient shopping centre said it had no plans to rebuild the aquarium which had become a popular attraction since it was installed two years ago.

'Sewerface’ lurking in city underground

What really lurks beneath our homes? The answer, in Newtownbreda, is Sewerface!

NI Water recently carried out CCTV investigations on a sewer in the outskirts of Belfast and instead of finding the usual items like baby wipes, they found a new spooky friend that would give Lady Gaga a run for her money!

Commenting on the discovery, Davy Sloan, NI Water field manager for the area said: “NI Water constantly finds inappropriate items dumped down the sewer. Items vary from nappies, wipes, sanitary products and cotton buds which wash into pumping stations and block the pumps.

“They also block sewers which often causes internal and external flooding. This time however, the CCTV picked up a spooky face at the end of the tunnel.

“We think the image is a result of a combination of the bend in the sewer line and variations in light.”

He added: “Some of the guys have given our new spooky friend a few nicknames, ‘Silver Surfer’ and ‘the Phantom Pipe’, however, Sewerface seemed more appropriate.”

In a more serious message, NI Water urged householders to be more responsible with the disposal of their bathroom waste.
