Deer Fights Back Against Hunter Who Shot Her

A Wisconsin bow hunter had the tables turned on him when a deer he shot with an arrow fought back and sent him to the hospital.

The 72-year-old shot the deer in the leg, wounding her, near Taycheedah on Friday.

When he attempted to track the doe, she “leaped out and went after him” while he was amidst “some thick brush” Fond du Lac Sheriff's Officer Jeff Bonack told the Fond du Lac Reporter. The feisty deer then head-butted his leg and fled the scene.

The hunter was taken to a hospital, but his condition has not been released.

This is only the latest incident of deer revolting against their human oppressors. In the past two months, deer have busted into homes in New York and New Jersey, in one case wreaking havoc in a bathroom. And in 2013, a buck jumped through the window of a minivan and out the other, shattering glass over a terrified family.

Dog Shoots Man: Hunter's Hand Is Amputated

A French hunter has told how he had to have his hand amputated after his "adorable" dog accidentally shot him.

The 55-year-old man, named only as Rene, said the animal accidentally pulled the trigger of his master's shotgun after jumping on top of him "for a cuddle".

The shot destroyed his right hand and he had to be taken by helicopter to a hospital in Bordeaux, where doctors were unable to save the limb.

Rene, who was hunting with three Blue Gascony Basset hounds in St Michel de Double, in the southwestern Dordogne region, told France Bleu radio he did not blame the animal.

"It wasn't the dog's fault," he said. "And he's adorable! I should have left the (gun's) safety on, that's all."

Utah solves its 'goat man' mystery

State wildlife officials have identified the man who has been spotted dressed in a goat suit among a herd of wild goats in the mountains of northern Utah.

Phil Douglass of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources said Monday the mystery man is a 57-year-old hunter from Southern California.

Mr. Douglass told the Standard-Examiner that the hunter called officials and provided enough information to put their curiosity to rest. Mr. Douglass says he didn't ask for a name.

The man told Mr. Douglass he was preparing for an archery hunt of mountain goats next year and testing a goat suit. Mr. Douglass says the hunter came to Utah because he heard it was easier to get near goats for training.

‘Goat Man’ In Utah Mountains Identified As Hunter

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A man spotted dressed in a goat suit among a herd of wild goats in the mountains of northern Utah has been identified as a hunter preparing for a Canadian archery season.

After a hiker spotted the so-called goat man on July 15 in the mountains above Ogden, about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City, wildlife officials said they wanted to talk to the person to be certain he was aware of the dangers as hunting season approaches.

They speculated he might have been an extreme wildlife enthusiast who just wanted to get as close as possible to the goats. A few days after the spotting, state wildlife authorities received an anonymous call from an “agitated man” who simply said, “Leave goat man alone. He’s done nothing wrong.”

This week, however, the mystery was solved.
