A one-eyed cat
from Nottingham proved nothing could keep it
from getting home after it trekked five miles in the snow to get back to its
owner after being lost for ten days.
Ginger
originally escaped from its cage when its owner Jayne Middleton was taking it
to Oak House Veterinary Centre in Nottingham .
The
55-year-old thought she had lost her beloved pet after searching high and low
for the missing feline, including an initial one-hour hunt in the snow and then
two searches every day from when it went missing.
But the
four-year-old surprised her worried owner when he returned by himself to the
house in Arnold, Notts.
Veterinary
nurse John Tuohy added: ‘It is very rare for a cat to make its way back after
being so far away.
‘He crossed
some busy roads. I have never heard of anything like it before.’
Ginger had to
navigate several hazards in order to get back, including the busy A60 road.
