Cornish Mystery Cat

A six week old kitten has survived after being trapped in a wall cavity in Cornwall for five days.

The RSPCA nicknamed the ginger moggy Macavity the mystery cat because they had no idea how he got stuck.

Crews were called to the flat in Liskeard after the tennant heard a constant mewing.

Spokeswoman Kayleigh Riding said: "When we first took him into the vets and weighed him he weighed less than a bar of chocolate.

"We're flabberghasted at how he was still with us after these five days. Trapped in a very small space, with no obvious access to any water or food and he was six weeks old; he shouldn't even have been away from his mum."

The charity has told Pirate FM that the tennant spotted Macavity's mum in a loft.

Kayleigh added: "There's no sign of any other kittens and what we now think might have happened, is that she was obviously moving her kittens and during the process of moving Macavity has dropped him into a hole in the wall."
