BANGALORE: The vast campus of Jnanabharati is still terrorized by a leopard that was spotted on Saturday by some residents. Although forest department officials have set a trap, nobody saw the elusive leopard on Sunday. Some forest guards will continue to maintain vigil through the night.

"This is a vast area, almost like a mini-forest. So we decided not to search the leopard on foot. It's unlikely that the big cat will venture out at night," deputy conservator of forests Jairam B said.

"The trap is still there. We'll keep a close watch at night. There could be a couple of leopards here, but I've not got any complaint of leopard attacks from this area before," he explained.

If the leopard is caught, Jairam will seek the PCCF's permission to relocate the animal to Bannerghatta National Park.
