MURRAYVILLE - For the second day in a row, there's been a report of a lion wandering along the side of the road on Dahlonega Highway near the Hall-Lumpkin County line.

The call came in around 5:00 Wednesday morning... the same time as Tuesday's call.

Hall County Sheriff's deputies conducted a search of the area after Tuesday's report, but turned up nothing, according to Col. Jeff Strickland, spokesman for the sheriff's department.

Strickland said Tuesday officers also checked with a nearby game preserve, but that all of its animals were accounted for. He said they decided to go public with the information "out of an abundance of precaution."
