MS sufferer treated by bees

5 April 2010, 13:56

A bed-ridden multiple sclerosis sufferer from Bristol is back on her feet - after being stung 1,500 times by bees.

Charity worker Sami Chugg says the revolutionary Bee Venom Therapy helped her overcome the debilitating condition.

The treatment involves holding a bee in a pair of tweezers and deliberately stinging an area of skin on the patient's body, reports The Sun.

Researchers claim elements in the sting reduce inflammation and help the body release natural healing compounds.

Sami, 45, said: "This has changed my life."
