Snake on a TRAIN: 50cm slippery customer forces over 400 passengers to be evacuated

2nd April

A snake caused mayhem on a Swiss train causing all 450 passengers to be evacuated.

The early morning service between Bern and Basel was halted when commuters spotted the slippery customer as they boarded.

Police searched for the elusive animal forcing all on board to get on a later service.

"All 450 passengers on the train were evacuated," said Donatella Del Vecchio of rail company SBB.

Ms Del Vecchio indicated she suspected the snake was taken aboard by a passenger before it escaped.

The 50cm non-venomous garter snake was eventually tracked down and captured in a ventilation shaft.
