Another big cat seen in El Paso

Rrrowr! Another big cat spotted

Another wildcat has been spotted in El Paso, just days after a mountain lion strolled through downtown and passed a busy school playground before being shot and killed near a car wash. El Paso police spokesman Mike Baranyay said officers responded to a call Friday about a bobcat showing up at a warehouse a few miles north of downtown.

Baranyay says the bobcat disappeared before officers showed up. He says animal control officers left traps.

The incident came three days after a mountain lion roamed downtown for nearly two hours. It was fatally shot by officers after an attempt to tranquilize the animal failed.

Biologist Richard Heilbrun says wild animals normally avoid humans but will visit urban areas when looking for food and water in drought conditions.
