Dogs that ate their dead owners

Saskatoon SPCA determining fate of dogs that ate their dead owners for survival
By: The Canadian Press

SPRINGSIDE, Sask. - A Saskatchewan woman and an animal protection group are at odds over whether dogs that ate the remains of their dead owners should be killed or put up for adoption. [...]

Is there any precedent behind dogs developing a taste for human flesh after eating it?

"No, not that we're aware of and that would be very unusual. We tend to think about the last meal we ate and whether we liked it or not and when we would like to have that meal. A dog is simply in the here-and-now, it's simply what is available to them as a food source at the time. They're not going to think about the fact that 'Well, I really enjoyed that meal and this child looks really tasty.' They're not going to equate the child to the situation where they had to consume what was available to them."
