It’s the time of year when newborn lambs full of the joys of spring frolic in the fields.
But when you’re the size of this humongous fellow, gambolling about isn’t as easy as it’s cracked up to be.
He has been named Goliath after tipping the scales at 10kg (22.5lb) – making him the biggest spring lamb in the world.
Ann Endicott, who has been lambing with her husband, David, for 13 years, said that she had never seen anything like it.
Goliath was born on Thursday at the couple’s farm in Wellington, Somerset. Mrs Endicott, 49, said: ‘He is amazing. Thankfully, the mother didn’t suffer during the birth.
‘My husband was helping her and he noticed that the lamb had extremely big feet.
