Praying mantis hijacks picture of spider in ultimate 'photobomb'

The intrusive insect took a cameraman by surprise by carrying out its own sudden ‘photobomb’.

A cheeky praying mantis hijacked this photo of a spider (Picture: Theerasak Saksritawee)

Theerasak Saksritawee was trying to capture a jumping spider on a plant when the mantis got in front of the lens to grab some of the attention.

The 27-year-old from Thailand said: ‘The mantis can eat the jumping spider and amazingly the spider can also eat the mantis, so it was a really crazy situation. Luckily, no one got eaten and they went their separate ways.’

Mr Saksritawee was taking pictures at the Baan Suan Rojana resort in the eastern district of Muak Lek.

He said: ‘One moment it was all clear – then this thing appears in front of me.’
