Heartbroken schoolboy has dead pet rat transformed into a flying rodent

A HEARTBROKEN schoolboy who was left distraught by the death of his pet rat has had the animal stuffed and turned into a flying rodent.

Pepeijn Bruins, 13, was devastated when Ratjetoe, which is Dutch for Rattatouille, had to be put down after suffering from cancer.

However, inventors Arjen Beltman and Bart Jansen have stuffed the rat and attached radio-controlled propellers to let it fly.

The result is the world's first airborne rat, which follows the bonkers Dutchmen's previous work - a flying cat.
