LEESBURG -- Police scanned a wooded area near Sunnyside and Pauling drives Monday after a motorist reported seeing a tiger near the roadway. The animal, described as weighing about 200 pounds, disappeared into the woods about 6 p.m., according to a call fielded by Lake County emergency dispatchers. Police did not find the animal. Although Lake has several state-licensed owners of tigers and other exotic animals, none reported a cat missing. Police also were unable to confirm the sighting.
