A man was hospitalised after he was stung more than 200 times by wasps, an ambulance service said.
The man was attacked by the swarm of wasps after he fell into their nest in London Road, Baldock, Hertfordshire just after 5pm on Monday.
East of England Ambulance Service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "It appears the man accidentally fell on to a bush and disturbed a wasps nest."
He continued: "The wasps then swarmed around him and repeatedly stung him in excess of 200 times.
"He was rapidly treated by paramedics at the scene before conveying him to an awaiting medical team at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage."
