A team are heading to Windermere today to try and gather evidence that there could be a monster in the Lake.
There have been several sightings of the so called 'Bownessie', and now a group headed up by psychic Dean 'Midas' Maynard are chartering a boat to see if they can find anything.
First up on the team is professional photographer Linden Adams, who in February 2007 said he saw something which appeared to be 50ft long, when he compared it to nearby boats, the pictures he took went onto to make the national press.
The 'witness' team is completed by local hotelier Thomas Noblett, was hit by a 3 foot wave of unknown origin in July this year whilst training for a charity channel swim, the 46-year-old said the wave came with so much force that he thought that "a submarine" has passed underneath him.
Many other sightings have been confirmed over the years including a 'Jaws' style attack on a 6 tonne yacht, where the owner reported being hit so hard that it sent shudders through the whole boat.
Dean said "I am really geared up and ready for the challenge ahead and with the team I have put together I am confident that we will find some evidence that something big does exist in the lake"
"I would also like to thank Alan Mumford at Luxury lake Windermere cruises for all his help as they are providing the main boat for the Bownessie search."
During Dean's time at Windermere he is hoping to raise funds for the local air ambulance.
