Fish That Looks Like Shrek

Sep 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Divers have come across a bizarre looking fish in the coastal waters of Japan that they have named ‘Shrek’ due to its ogre like features. The Asian Sheephead Wrasse, which is not a very uncommon fish in Asian waters has not been captured much on camera before but when divers came across the ugly looking animal they immediately decided to capture it on video. The fish that has been captured on tape is, reportedly, thirty years old.

The divers identified with the fish’s looks instantly and named it ‘Shrek’ after they found striking similarities between the fish and the animated ogre that regularly takes the box office by storm. The scuba divers have said that if one looks closely at the fish, then the similarities with ‘Shrek’ are even more evident. They indicated that the eyes, the chin and the head of the fish were built like that of the ugly ogre.

Considering that the majority of the organisms living underwater are unknown by scientist, the fish has been captured on camera for the first time. The ogre like animal is a member of the Labridae family and is found in the waters of North Korea, China, Japan and South Korea. The 30 year old feeds off crustaceans and shellfish that it eats from the ocean floor. It is unclear, from the video that has been released, whether the fish is aggressive or not. The character of Shrek is known for its sense of humor and odd looking face that has protrusions at strange places. The fish has become a rage on the web ever since its discovery.
