The tiger sharks circle their prey off the coast of Queensland
The sharks were filmed by a rescue helicopter as they preyed on a school of fish off the southern Queensland coast. They could be seen encircling the fish in the coastal area of Noosa.
The Sunshine Coast Helicopter Rescue Service, which happened to be in the area, was returning from a trip to Fraser Island when its crew spotted the attack.
The attack was so vicious that the crew alerted local lifeguards who in turn issued warnings to fishermen and swimmers.
Talking to ABC News, Rick Harvey, a spokesman for the helicopter service, said: 'There were fishermen in the area. There were no swimmers, but we have notified lifeguard command and they were letting their people know just to keep an eye out in case.'
Tiger sharks are often found close to the coast and are among the largest sharks. They have a reputation for eating anything and has the capability to take on large prey.
They circle their prey and study it by prodding it with their snout before often eating it whole.
