Meet Harry the crustacean, a colourful crab with a shell made of Lego

With a shell made entirely out of Lego, Harry is arguably the most eccentric crab since the Little Mermaid's reggae-singing Caribbean crustacean Sebastian.
The hermit crab is the latest addition to the Atlantis Submarine Voyage attraction at the Legoland Windsor resort.

He lives in the Discovery Area of Britain's most unusual aquarium, with a variety of other marine life.

Harry delighted staff after rejecting more traditional options to opt for a brightly coloured shell which he uses as a portable home.

He immediately stands out from the crowd with his custom-made red, yellow and blue shell made of Lego bricks.

Senior Aquarist, Liane Riley explained: 'Hermit crabs have soft bodies which need protecting, but they don’t have their own shells.

'They solve this problem by salvaging for empty sea shells and literally moving in but we decided to give Harry a wider choice and the model makers here created a special Lego house just for him.

'We weren’t really sure if he’d actually move in, but he rejected the sea and snail shells on offer and seems very comfortable in his new home.'

Male crabs are known to be aggressive when vying for a female's attention and it seems Harry has the upper hand in that department with his added layer of armoured protection.
