A nature reserve in North Lincolnshire has been attacked by vandals.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was called to attend a fire at the Water's Edge Country Park on Saturday afternoon.
About two thirds of an island reed bed caught fire and plants and habitats, including some duck eggs and birds nests, were destroyed.
The Waters' Edge Country Park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and home to rare birds and plants.
Councillor Liz Redfern, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: "I am shocked by this incident over the weekend at Waters' Edge.
"The fire has damaged the majority of the viewing area.
"These vandals should be warned, we will help the police with all their enquires to ensure these mindless vandals are brought to justice."
