A rare Marabou stork has been seen at a water treatment plant in Ansty in West Sussex.The RSPCA was called out on Friday last week after the bird was seen perching high on a light. Inspector Rachel Bell arrived but failed to catch the bird, believed to be an escaped captive bird. Marabou storks are found mainly in the wetlands of central Africa and will struggle to survive here in the wild.
Anyone who sees the stork is advised not to approach it, but to contact the RSPCA on 03001234999.
