Grumpy Leon the Lemur has enough of rainy June and steals an umbrella

With storm clouds brewing over head, light-fingered Leon nabbed the brolly from a visitor at Dudley Zoological Gardens (DZG), West Midlands.

The primate seized the opportunity for some fun, despite the weather, and appeared content roaming around the one-acre paddock in the site's Lemur Wood, armed with the brolly to keep him dry.

Jill Hitchman, DZG's head of media and communications, admitted Leon seemed to enjoy his brief moment of light relief.

She explained: 'Lemurs love to play out in the trees and meadows, but this week's torrential downpours have put a dampener on their antics.

'However, yesterday one of the black-and-white-ruffeds spied an opportunity for fun, grabbed an umbrella from a visitor and made a dash for it.
